Company History

Innovative Systems Design and Training, Inc. is incorporated in the State of Maryland and has been doing business as Educational Systems Planning (ESP) since 1996. We are educators, facility planners and technology designers who desire high performance schools for current and future generations of learners. Our firm offers the direct experience and background of staff in educational design and implementation of instructional technology. As a small business in the state of Maryland, Educational Systems Planning is owned and managed by a team of 3 designers with almost 60 years of educational technology experience.

Educational and Technology Planning

ESP has developed Educational Program Documents which include statements of: vision and mission, current teaching and learning trends and their impact on school design and learning space layout, community involvement and use, curriculum initiates and desired educational program direction, critical issues and challenges, grade level configurations and school size, and program space utilization. ESP has developed Technology Utilization Plans for multiple school districts which provide technology standards and guidelines to architects. ESP has worked in many different construction environments including college and university classroom buildings, public and private K-12 schools, individual schools and districts and Billion-dollar construction programs.

IT Telecommunications, AV & Security Design

With two active Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDDs) on staff, ESP is prepared to guide design teams toward future-proofed IT systems with capacity for growth. ESP can integrate classroom technology such as AV presentation systems, electronic whiteboards, and audio enhancement with the building IT communications infrastructure. By representing these technologies from the first stages of educational programming, we can ensure school facilities that supply learner, instructor and administrator with the space, infrastructure and environment to properly utilize technology.
